Synopsis of the Handbook
Dare to Lead serves as a practical guide for leaders who want to build cultures rooted in courage and connection. Drawing on extensive research, Brown highlights the importance of emotional intelligence, empathy, and self-awareness as foundations for effective leadership

The handbook is organised into four interconnected parts:
• Daring Leadership introduces the core concept and outlines four essential skill sets: rumbling with vulnerability, living into values, braving trust, and learning to rise.
• Building Trust and Belonging explores how trust is created and sustained. Brown offers practical strategies for strengthening relationships with colleagues, teams, and stakeholders.
• Leading with Empathy and Compassion examines the realities of difficult conversations and high-stakes moments. Brown provides guidance on giving feedback, navigating conflict, and staying grounded in empathy.
• Learning to Rise focuses on resilience and growth. Brown shares strategies for recovering from setbacks, embracing a growth mindset, and developing a culture of learning within organisations.
Together, these sections create a cohesive and actionable framework for leaders who want to cultivate courage and connection in their work.
