What Resilience Means – New Growth

What Resilience Means – New Growth

Despite a barren parched environment, life continues to flourish. There is new growth and there are new prospects. Out of adversity comes opportunity and a new plant grows where others would fail to flourish. The old is replaced by the new, that will eventually grow to full maturity and the new plant will be an integral part of a new landscape and new environment.

Examples of questions you might use when coaching around new growth.

– What does change mean to you? How adaptable are you to changing conditions?

– What is your reaction to change? How creative are you? How innovative are you? What do you do to develop new skills? What excitement do you get from new situations? How do you get the courage to come back after situations that you find extremely challenging?

– How much do you enjoy working in new environments?

– How much do you change things to make improvements? When things become routine, how long does it take for you to try something new or working in new ways?

– How do others react to the way you manage change?

– How much is your flexibility and adaptability an issue for other people? Do you get bored quickly or get easily distracted? If so, what impact does this have on you?

– How does this affect others?
